A user on the Adobe Captivate forum was looking for a Reply Slide Widget for Adobe Captivate so I figured I would create such a widget.

Replay Slide Widget for Adobe Captivate 4 and Adobe Captivate 5

What will it do?

The widget will replay the current slide when clicked. The widget is transparent so you can place the widget on top of your own button graphics within Adobe Captivate.

Requirements:

An Adobe Captivate 4 AS3 or Adobe Captivate 5 project.

  2. This widget worked perfectly for me. I previously tried just jumping back to slide 1 to “replay” my project but some of my text animations were not replaying correctly. This widget fixed that issue. Thanks!

  3. I have imported some animation from PowerPoint that do not replay with the widget. Is there a way for the widget to restart these animations?

    • Sorry no – the widget is only able to restart the Main Adobe Captivate slide / movie – not any added assets such as animations or video sequences.

    Hello,

Do you know if the widget works on Captivate 5.5 for Mac?
We’re having problems with an error message: “This is not a valid widget”.
    Any suggestion?

    Thank you very much!

        @Michael,

yes, we have tried to restart, but we have the same message; one strange thing is that if we copy the widget from another project (done with Captivate 5) and paste it on the new one (Captivate 5.5) it works… by now we are copying and pasting…

        Thanks,

        Valentino

  5. Awesome! Does exactly what it says it will.

One word of caution. . . . . Becuase I was very excited to find this little guy, I just droped it on my slide and hit the good old F4 key. It didn’t work. Crap! Oops. . . Forget to set it up properly in my timeline and set the timing. Fixed it up and it worked like a champ.

    GREAT little tool!

      • It WAS listed as an animation in the timeline. Deleted and replaced as a Widget, but still getting the same result. I am not using the Captivate control bar–I have deleted it, and am using my own buttons. Would this have an effect?

        • John,

I can’t say why you are experiencing that behavior. I just tested it with Captivate 5 and Captivate 5.5 and it works as a replay button on my system.

Try making a new basic project and test the widget in that.

  6. This is a great widget!! Although I want to use this widget in my courses, I cannot because it disables my fullscreen feature.

Basically, my course has a button to go fullscreen and enlarges the course to fit the full screen. Adding this widget still enables the full screen feature, however, this widget prevents the course to fit the full screen. Basically, while the fullscreen is activated, the course is wedged on the far left corner at its original size instead of being centered and enlarged.

Is there a possible way to enable this feature?

    Thanks again!!

  7. By the way, is the source file available? I ask because placing the widget over my button graphic prevents any hover action. Also, the cursor arrow does not change when hovering over this widget. Thanks again.
